As a professional organization to help the public achieve the goal of wellness and longevity, IWLA’s work is closely connected with cutting-edge medical theories and practices. Among them, functional medicine and cellular nutrition provide IWLA with the primary scientific basis and practical path, focusing on a holistic and individualized approach to health management.

Functional medicine emphasizes exploring the root causes of disease and emphasizing the overall health of the individual, rather than just treating the disease. It advocates restoring the body's self-regulation ability by adjusting lifestyle, dietary structure, mental state and other factors, thereby preventing and reversing chronic diseases and achieving a healthy and long life. Functional medicine contributes to the missions of IWLA mainly by:

1. Personalized health management: Functional medicine focuses on individual differences and advocates the development of personalized health management plans based on individual genes, environment, lifestyle and other factors.

2. Comprehensive health intervention: Functional medicine advocates "treating diseases before they occur", attaches great importance to prevention, and emphasizes comprehensive intervention from multiple dimensions such as diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management.

3. Disease prevention and reversal: The research of functional medicine has revealed the pathogenesis of many chronic diseases and proposed targeted intervention strategies. Application of these research results provide strong support in disease reversal by promoting early screening and other disease prevention knowledge.

Cellular nutrition focuses on the relationship between nutrients and cell function, exploring how nutrients affect cell growth, repair, metabolism and other processes, thereby affecting the overall health of the human body.

Functional medicine is a broad medical approach that treats health problems as a part of the whole interconnected body system. Cellular/functional nutrition takes this perspective one step further by highlighting how food and dietary supplements constitute fundamental component of health at the cellular level.

Everything related to our health begins at the foundation of the human body - our cells. Cellular nutrition can be described as the process of making sure our body’s cells receive the necessary nutrients so they can perform all their major functions to help us achieve optimal health at the cellular level.

IWLA will provide its members and the public with the following services based on the theories and practices of cellular nutrition:

1. Health education and training: IWLA will disseminate new discoveries and enriched theories of cellular nutrition, helping the public gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between nutrition and health, improve health literacy, and actively participate in healthy lifestyle practices.

2. Scientific dietary guidance: IWLA promotes the optimization of cell function and the aging process of individuals by providing scientific and accurate nutritional intake recommendations based on cellular nutrition. We particularly aim to help people understand the specific effects of various nutrients on cellular health and guide individuals to formulate a suitable and balanced diet plan.

3. Reasonable use of dietary supplements: Addressing special situations such as nutrient deficiencies and absorption disorders, IWLA will use the research results of cellular nutrition to guide individuals to rationally choose and use nutritional supplements to make up for their unique insufficient diet and restore the body’s overall function.

4. Recommend top-notch dietary supplements: Dietary supplement products are marked by their varying levels of quality amidst its overwhelming quantity. There are currently as many as 100,000 different products available to consumers. Through in-depth research and comparisons by experts, IWLA is committed to certifying and recommending the products with the top-notch quality in the world.

Overall, functional medicine provides the association with an individualized, all-round health management framework, while cellular nutrition provides it with specific nutritional intervention strategies. Together, they form a powerful theoretical foundation and practical tool for IWLA to promote the public to achieve wellness and longevity. In the future, as research in these two fields continues to deepen, we have reason to expect that IWLA will further innovate service models, improve service quality, and lead the public into a new era of wellness and longevity under scientific guidance.
